McGee, Van Meter, Shoemaker and Sigler Claim Outstanding Performer Awards
Cory McGee of Pass Christian High School (MS) smashed the Allstate Sugar Bowl Track & Field Classic meet record in the 800 meters with her 2:10.04 performance on Saturday, earning her the Outstanding Track Performer award for the girls. In the field, Merritt Van Meter of Metairie Park Country Day (LA) topped the meet record in the Pole Vault with a her 13’ winning vault, earning her the Outstanding Field Performer award for girls.
On the Boys side, Stew Shoemaker of Bayside Academy (AL) was a double winner, taking top honors in the 800 & 1600 earning him the Outstanding Track Performer Award for the boys. Josh Sigler of Murphy High School (AL) was also a double winner, claiming both the Long Jump and Triple Jump titles earning him the award for Outstanding Field Performer for the boys.
